It's a flimsie!

So it's not truly a finish, but it is the first of two bunk bed quilts. I'll put this one away while I'm working on it's partner. It won't be identical, but uses the same fabric bundle I know it probably looks narrow, but that is on purpose. I prefer a quilt on a bunk bed that doesn't hang way over the mattress.  Although I haven't started to work on the next set of blocks, I have a bit of it cut out and ready to go. I didn't want to accidentally mix up the blocks. 😉  So my leader and ender project as I was sewing the blocks into a flimsie was this project that had been started and stuck away due to deadline projects. It's a disappearing pinwheel pattern entitled Top of the Stairs variation that I saw a long time ago on the YouTube channel of Brita Nelson, the Questioning Quilter. I saw a different version on Missouri Star using 10" squares. I decided to use an old batik layer cake with various shades of blue. I no longer know the name. Once I...

This was a project I started when at a quilting retreat with friends in January.  I'm making two twin-ish sized quilts for the bunk bed guest room. Measuring the beds, I realized I didn't want full twin sized quilts. Anyone with bunk beds knows why 😉 I measured again yesterday and have decided 4 blocks by 7 blocks will be perfect.  I'm trying to complete one block each day (What you see is 4 blocks across). I had sewn 4 blocks incorrectly, so they have been picked apart and are waiting for their turn to be sewn. I have 2 more blocks cut out and waiting on a design board. So 12 out of 28 done.  But I've been derailed some days. I'm part of a small quilting group that makes donation quilts. Previously the donation quilts were primarily made and quilted by 4 ladies while the rest contributed in other ways. But this year ...
