He Giveth More Grace
It's a hymn I haven't heard in quite some time, although it is a hymn that was frequently sung when I was a child. The words stuck me anew. "He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength when the labors increase; To added affiction He addeth His mercy, To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace. His love has no limits, His grace has no measure, His power has no boundary known unto men; For out of His infinite riches in Jesus , He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again." (Written by Annie Flint) (italics mine) It was that line "For out of His infinite riches in Jesus" that really got me pondering. Infinite riches in Jesus. Can I even imagine that? Riches beyond counting. Infinite is a concept I spend quite a bit of time considering and discussing as a math teacher. I am fascinated by it. But when you put the word riches with it, it is way beyond my even my imagination. Infinite riches, how can that be?...
