Finished!

Image
I do need to add a hanging sleeve. I was hoping to have that added before the end of February which I might just squeak in, but it will be ready to hang in my entryway next February! I'm not sure why I so enjoy working with small pieces, but it is so rewarding to see them all come together in a finish!  I remade my label twice. Mistakes were made both times. I gave up after my third try. I do like to use leftover scraps as part of my label.  I quilted it in an all-over loopy pattern with a few hearts thrown in here and there.  I have a donation quilt next to quilt and the bunk bed quilts are my next focus project although a red, white and blue quilt idea has been begging for some attention. Isn't that how it goes?? Sharing at: https://quiltingjetgirl.com/2025/02/24/favorite-finish-february-2025/ And at:  Small Quilts and Doll Quilts

Current projects

This is my design wall as of last night.  It's hard to get a good photo as I have a pair of tables in the middle of the room that are my cutting surface as well as where my sewing machine sits.  On the left is one of my leader and ender projects, Bonnie Hunter's County Clare. I like this layout. The pieces are smaller, so it will take awhile to complete. I'd like it to be twin size donation quilt. None of the blocks are sewn to one another. (I have a second leader and ender project that is a Patriotic quilt. I do need to pull that out too, but I would like to put it on the design wall to see how far along I am with it ) On the right is the beginnings of a bunk bed quilt for our bunk guest room. It's the pattern Carly by Erica Jackman of Kitchen Table Quilts. The colors are prettier than the colors show up here. They are batiks in browns and blues. Only the 7 blocks on the right are sewn together. I have a few more blocks cut, but they are sitting in the project box unt...

It's good I can laugh

At myself, that is. In my last post I had indicated I hoped to have this quilt to the flimsy stage over the weekend. It's now past the second weekend, and while I've made progress, I'm not done.  By the end of January I had webbed it into 3 sections. I found it easier to double check my block placements this way. The 3 sections are now all webbed (no photo!), but I'm debating on adding a border to make it a bit larger.  This will be a wall hanging and where I'm intending it to hang would be better with a border. Nothing in my stash seems right. I'll make a trip to my LQS. I have fabric I purchased online during a recent sale that needs to be picked up. Two birds. One stone. Or as is the new saying in our family, "Feed two birds with one scone." But that's a post for another day. 😉
