Cooking with a cake mix

Okay, this post is out of order as I have not completed the time we spent with the guys and Dawn. I'm still awaiting some photos to do that, so until then, I'll give you a current adventure. Bob's favorite desserts in the world are anything made with lemon: lemon meringue pie,lemon tarts, lemon cookies, and now that we've moved to Switzerland the Zitronen Cake or Lemon cake. The bakery in town makes a great one, but it's small and cost CH 11 (these days that about $11), so I thought I would experiment with cake mixes(CH 4) that I have seen at the grocery store. Of course, whenever I buy a mix here, there is always the problem of understanding the directions. Which means I go to a free online translation service. Snow Hike

On Tuesday we went snow hiking. Dawn, Steven and I would need to leave Zermatt in the early afternoon in order to return to Z ürich, so they could catch their flight back to the states in the morning. So there really wasn't enough time to squeeze in another day of skiing. We awoke to another beautiful day and set out along one of the very well marked trails, taking the hike leading to Z'mutt, located at 1936 m in the Zmutt Valley just west of Zermatt. The village chapel (locked while we were there) is to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, who is the patroness of the Valais. About an hour's hike from Zermatt, this old, summer-only occupied village has 400 year old guest cottages which you can rent and appears to have a restaurant that would be open. We "enjoyed" getting hit with the spray from a snowblower as well as some stray snowballs here and there and saw some interesting signs written in the snow. ;-) The trip back to Riedt took us on a Panoramic car for ...
