Meet the family....

Okay, so I don't know what this says about our family, but here goes.

Maybe we just don't get out enough, but then again, this craziness continued even when we were living abroad. For some reason our vehicles and other objects get names. I don't know if this insanity is learned behavior or a gene that we passed on. Joel drives "Jungle Bob" and Steven drives "Bessie," who is pictured below in her original condition. (Now there's another possible post, but then again, maybe not.)

Jenn asked the we create a photo album so that everyone could be introduced. So here goes...

Meet Troy, the lawn mower. He's riding piggyback on Tex (the Texasbragg trailer) They joined the family when we moved back home and no longer had sons to assist in the lawn mowing chores. It was amazing how quickly after the move home occured that these two arrived at our home.

Big Blue has been a family member for some time. He joined the family when we thought we would be needing to tow a horse trailer. There is talk of Big Blue towing a boat, but we'll see how that goes.

Sadie (our S-80, listen carefully when you say that and her name is a given, isn't it?) joined the family while we lived in Switzerland. Here she is when she still had her Swiss tag.

What's really scary is not only do these objects have names, but they often initiate conversation. I've been told by my husband that Big Blue asked for a shower because his boots were dirty. Troy said he was cold and asked to go for a spin around the yard to warm up. Maggie, the magnolia we planted in the backyard, indicated she has been quite cold recently with the temperature hoovering around freezing so often.

One of the reason I began dating and married my hubby was for his great sense of humor. Thankfully that hasn't changed with time.

Yeah, we name things, too, Pam. The funniest one is Lance's GPS, which we've nicknamed Leah. She doesn't like when Lance takes me on a trip -- she keeps interrupting our conversation with worthless instructions. At one point on our anniversary trip, he said to her, "go find a pomegranate" and turned her off.

All of the kids' instruments have names, but you know, I don't think we've named the pickup! That will have to change...

Now how could I forget Gar(our GPS)?!! So, Mary, does that mean that this is "normal" behavior? Or are both our families crazy? Okay, second thought, don't answer that one.
