Wedding Preparation
Dawn and Steven opted to have both the wedding and the reception at the church. Dawn's mom and Cindy Stephenson, who gave SO much of her time. had come up with some very beautiful, yet inexpensive ideas to decorate both. 
We spent one beautiful sunny afternoon at the Langenbergers and the Hoferts cutting branches off of their curly willow and birch trees. Above is the Worship Chapel after those branches had been assembled into plastic pots, anchored with rocks and Cindy performed her magic with uplighting.
As the trees were being formed in the Worship Chapel, the "faux" tent was being created in the middle of the gym using metal poles as the four corners, stringing wire between the corners and then wrapping wedding lights and then tulle around the wire and down the poles. Bob and Jonathan were the main workers (with some help from Joel and Steven) on this project and did a fabulous job. They are planning on starting their own company soon. Weddings R Us.
You never realize the hidden talents that your loved ones possess, eh?
Amy, Linda, Jenn, Beth and I spent time setting up the "trees" in the chapel and then assembling the centerpieces, which were the branches, stick into glass vases with river stones (purchased, not gathered!), to anchor them. The vases were tall enough so that they were above eye level when people were seated, but added so much to the decor. It was great fun to work together to get these made.

. Cindy, this could not have happened without your help!! And Lee Johnson's willingness to move, get, carry whatever was a great blessing!
Many hours were spent getting everything set up, not just by family but we had a wonderful crew of volunteers, Strike Force, from the church who came to set up tables, then set the tables and decorate for both the rehearsal dinner as well as the reception.
You expect family might be available to help on special occasions. Well, the church truly functioned as our family for this event. So many people donated their gifts, their talents, their time to bless Dawn and Steven. They blessed us as well.
